Do acting at your peril in Iran: ‘Subdue’ actor Kourosh Tahami

Iran actor Kourosh Tahami starring in ‘Subdue’ film says in an ifilm exclusive interview that actors in Iran run the risk of falling into clichéd roles.

The actor disclosed to ifilm that, “Basically being an actor is a risk. I don’t want to be a stereotype and I’ve always tried hard not to be considered one. Because in our country, when you portray a role well, especially in your first and second projects, the next projects offered to you are of that same style.”

He also noted, “If you’re not picky in your choices, good things might not happen to you. I mean in the best sense possible, you’ll be turned into an actor who can portray a special kind of role very well.”

The movie, produced by Nematollah and written by Masoumeh Bayat, stars Leila Hatami, Kourosh Tahami, Hamid-Reza Azarang and Hossein Erfanian.

Directed by Hamid Nematollah, ‘Subdue’ narrates the story of a woman who is suffering some difficulties in her life and has to deal with some unfortunate events.
